Jerilderie’s popular annual Carol Service will be held at St Stephen’s Anglican Church, on Sunday, December 10 starting at 7.30pm.

This year the Bishop of Riverina, the Right Reverend Donald Kirk, will be officiating, so you can be sure of an inspirational evening, not to mention the opportunity to raise your voices and join in some well-loved Christmas music.

Everyone is welcome, and refreshments will be provided after the service.

It was pleasing to see a good cross section of young and not so young at the recent ‘getting to know you’ barbecue for newcomers to Jerilderie.

The informal gathering held on a balmy evening at Luke Park, and organised and hosted by Murrumbidgee Council, gave ‘old’ residents the chance to meet new neighbours, and newcomers the opportunity to find out a bit more about what is available in Jerilderie.

Various organisations in town had representatives on hand to talk to the ‘newbies’, and councillors and council staff donned their aprons and ‘host hats’ to make sure everyone was well fed, happy, and looked after.
